Rosy Maidenhair, Rough Maidenhair

Derivation: Adiantum= from the Greek adiantos, meaning "unwetted" or "unwettable," and referring to the way the fronds repel water; hispidulum = with little bristly hairs, minutely hispid

There are two forms of this plant, this one and one sometimes referred to as Adiantum pubescens, which I will describe/photograph if and when I encounter it.

Fronds exposed to more light than these tend to be a bright rosy pink. Note the A. cunninghamii to the right, upper and lower.
